Evolution
So here they are...the scoundrels. They may look like angels but don't let them fool you! Kai is 4 months old and scoots all around the house. I have to strap him down or else he'll start off in the living room and end up in the dining room! He doesn't care much for sleep because he never lets me get any, either. I'm going to lay down the law pretty soon. Don't ask me how to do that with a baby but I'm certainly going to try!!!
Owen is recovering from his second black eye in as many weeks. He was certainly proud of his "shiner" and was not at all disappointed to have a second one. Drew is also recovering from a black eye that was given to him by Owen!
You know how every parent wants their kid to be faster, smarter, prettier, etc. than they are? Well, I'm not so sure I subscribe to that anymore! I'm afraid that by the time Drew is in 1st grade I won't be able to help him with his homework! They way his brain works (and it is working all the time) is such a wonder to me and Jay. In the truck Drew asked why the inside of the window had moisture on it. Jay went into a big long discussion about condensation and water molecules in the air and the weight of them, etc. Drew digested this and then said, "I guess that is why when you breathe on a window it gets wet because the air in your mouth is warmer than the...." and on and on he went. He described the exact scientific process! This is evolution at its finest.
While Drew is busy figuring out the world using his brain, Owen is barreling through life like a steam engine. He has been calling me names lately. Pretty bad names...."bagel" and "banana." So we've been working on helping him to understand that name calling hurts people's feelings and isn't the right thing to do. So he digested that information and has taken to calling me a "nice lady" instead. I call that a victory!
Kai is a different baby than his big brothers. He is quicker to smile, laugh, and more interested in people. He has such a sweet spirit and inquisitive eyes. He is so happy to be with Drew and Owen even though they poke him constantly. When he was blessed he was told that he would bring peace and calmness to his brothers. I can see that already. Every little bit helps!
